Melanie Yvette is a former magazine beauty editor who pivoted her career in 2014 to become a dynamic force in marketing. With over a decade of experience as a top social media manager, editorial contributor, and beauty and lifestyle writer, Melanie has consistently led with the belief that marketing should be used to amplify and enhance the voices of women in any audience.
Her passion for advocacy started early in her career when she led the Prom Dress Drive at Temple University in 2010, a project focused on supporting young women and building their confidence. This experience solidified her commitment to creating platforms that empower women, a mission she carries with her into every project.
Melanie has worked extensively in beauty and media, with a true passion for developing social media strategies for companies focused on women’s beauty, wellness, and empowerment. She believes that behind every brand campaign, there’s an opportunity to shape conversations that uplift women and highlight their diverse stories.
She created the multicultural beauty platform Beautifully Brown to celebrate the beauty of Millennial and Gen Z women of color. Her work includes collaborations and consulting with brands like L’Oreal, The Today Show, Maybelline, Hulu, and Make Up For Ever. Melanie also contributes to beauty, fashion, and lifestyle publications, helping brands drive authentic, inclusive conversations that are both empowering and culturally nuanced.
She resides in New York, and travels to her hometown in Maryland.
